ILLARIA REZ
I have worked with the magic of words and sentences for many decades – I translated foreign language films and books into my mother language, Hungarian.
Four-five years ago I unexpectedly started drawing again, then painting, then in live and online courses. I tried to regain the knowledge of the basics I had acquired in the art faculty of high school some really long time ago.
I have been painting continuously for the last three years, trying myself in new and newer mediums and techniques. I started with acrylics, I also tried oil painting, but I have been anchored to wax for a while now.
After a series of cold wax and oil paintings of mainly water themes, I fell in love with encaustic during a workshop in Ireland last Autumn. Since then I have been experimenting portraiture in encaustic.
Creating is a great joy for me, I can’t even imagine my days without it.
